Sit back, relax, and embark on a scenic journey through Haugesund, Steinsfjellet, and the iconic Rising Tide Horses by renowned sculptor Jason DeCaires Taylor. This is more than just a tour—it’s a local adventure that immerses you in art, history, and breathtaking landscapes, with the support of the Haugesund community.

Your tour begins at the cruise pier, where you’ll be warmly welcomed aboard the bus. As you travel through the city, your guide will share fascinating stories about Haugesund's rich history and the people who shaped it.

Our first stop is the magnificent City Hall, a symbol of Haugesund's storied past and an architectural gem that stands proudly at the heart of the city. Discover its unique design and the historical significance that makes it one of the city's most important landmarks.

Next, we ascend to Steinsfjellet (Stone Mountain), where you'll be treated to sweeping panoramic views of Haugesund, the surrounding islands, and the North Sea. This popular hiking spot is beloved by locals, who come here to connect with nature and enjoy the fresh coastal air—a cornerstone of the healthy, active lifestyle in this region.

We then head north to Kvalsvik, home to the striking Rising Tide sculptures by Jason DeCaires Taylor. These haunting statues of horses, partly fused with oil extraction machinery, are submerged in the sea and intended to provoke thought about our dependence on oil. This powerful installation is the beginning of a larger sculpture park, a private initiative proudly backed by the community.

Our final stop takes us to the National Monument, an homage to Harald Fairhair, the Viking king who united Norway into a single kingdom.

Join us for this unforgettable experience, where local culture, history, and environmental awareness come together on an inspiring journey.

«Fantastic tour, well organised, informative and easily executed from our cruise ship. Our guide was friendly and full of interesting facts and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting Kringsjå Farm and the Rising Tide sculptures. Kevin, the Kringsjå Farm manager, was so warm, welcoming and passionate about the place that has clearly stolen his heart. We wish him all the best in his future plans and are looking forward to returning in the future to see how Kringsjå has grown!»

«Had a great your this morning with Alphonso, incredibly informative and gave us a great amount of information as we went around. Went on a quick 1.5 hour tour that let us see the best sights around haugesand in short order. Would definitely recommend for those who want to see several of the sights that are not all covered in one tour with the cruise operators»

«We loved it! we chose the minibus for something different. There was a green flag at the port as per the email. Our guide was Jason. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a 10 minute stop to take photos of the views then another at the monument to the Unification of Norway. Topped off by a visit to The Rising Tides. We never felt rushed and were given more information at each stop. We chose to get off in the town centre to continue our day. We would highly recommend this.»

«Great tour, showing the main points of interest of Haugesund. We had a friendly, knowledgeable local guide, and a wonderful driver, who were more than happy to share little anecdotes about the area. Small group tour, which gave a more personal experience, and plenty of photo stops along the way. Highly recommend.»
