Join the Locals: Haugesund City Boat Tour

Step aboard our silent, electric city boat and discover Haugesund from the water – just like the locals do. This 30-minute guided tour offers a unique perspective of the city’s past and present, all while you glide smoothly through the harbor with zero emissions and minimal noise.

The tour starts at our art gallery, where you’ll meet your captain and guide before heading out along the waterfront. From here, we circle the city islands, pass the bustling harbor area, and cruise along both the inner and outer waterways that have shaped Haugesund into the vibrant coastal town it is today.

Along the way, you’ll hear stories about Haugesund’s rich herring history, its transformation into a modern maritime and subsea hub, that still define the region. We pass landmarks such as the historic harbor buildings, the iconic Stålehuset, and the Aibel yard—one of Norway’s key players in offshore and energy services.

We even pass right by your own cruise ship—an impressive sight from sea level and a perfect photo opportunity.

You’ll also get a glimpse of everyday life along the waterfront, from working harbors to quiet residential areas, all seen from a perspective few visitors experience. And of course, keep an eye out for the famous statue of Marilyn Monroe, a surprising and much-loved symbol of the city.

After the tour, you’re welcome to enjoy local cider and traditional Norwegian waffles at our Viking Advisor visitor center—just like the locals do.

Meeting point: Meet 10 minutes before at our Visitor Center, just a few minutes’ walk from the ship.
Duration: Approximately 3 hours, with about 1 hour at The Viking Planet, 1 hour dedicated to sailing (including boarding), and 1 hour at the Viking Farm.

Cancellation: For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience. Contact the Supplier for a full refund if the customer arrives on a cruise ship and, for any reason, the ship does not arrive at the port, or if the arrival/departure time changes significantly and disrupts the tour. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it's canceled because the minimum isn't met, you will be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
